David and Kath Newton
I wanted to get out of my job as a long haul truck driver, I was sitting in my truck for up to 14 hours a day, I left home Monday morning and arrived back to my house on Friday night, the money was good but my health was poor and my family life was nonexistent. What to do? How do I change things, still earn good money, work 9 to 5 be at home every night have time to exercise or more importantly just to have some time.
I thought get into my own business, but I had no experience in anything really, my accountant suggested buying a franchise so I did an Espresso To Go Mobile Café, why them you might say, well let me tell you.
Espresso To Go said the money is great, the hours are great, and the job is really enjoyable but the mobile coffee van industry is fairly competitive, there are lots of vans out there and it is not easy to get to the top unless you know what you are doing and have really good coffee.
Being a lover of good coffee I decided to base my decision on which mobile coffee franchise to buy on who had the best coffee, first, then what sort of training and support would I get, then how good did the van look and then the cost.
I have now been going for 9 days doing around 35 cups, have taken all the business from the other vans so far and are now getting phone calls from other businesses wanting my coffee. My support manager is still here with me, her training is first class and she makes me feel confident and secure knowing I am not alone in these first few weeks.
I would recommend Espresso To Go to anyone thinking about getting into the mobile coffee business and happy to talk to anyone wanting to know more.
